Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator

Essential training for those in the workplace or community who may be required to perform Basic Life Support and have access to an Automated External defibrillator.

Course Aim

This course is designed to train delegates and organisations meet the minimum requirements for First Aiders in accordance with Health & Safety First Aid at Work Regulations (1981).

Course Contents

CPR: Adults, children and Babies • Recovery Position: Adults, Children and Babies • Dealing with a Heart Attack • Dangers associated with the use of an AED • Operating an AED • Assisting a Paramedic and “Hand Over”

Certification

Delegates are required to demonstrate their competence by passing a multiple choice examination and practical assessment. Successful delegates will be awarded their Certificate which is a regulated qualification and has a recommended refresher date within 3 years.
