Marine Knuckle Boom Crane

This course is designed for delegates who are required to operate a marine knuckle boom crane in the workplace and covers the safe and efficient use of the equipment inline with manufacturer’s recommendations.

Course Aim

The NPORS Marine Knuckleboom Crane course aims to provide the candidate with a thorough practical and theory training in operating a knuckleboom crane in order to enable the candidate to pass the NPORS Theory and Practical Tests.

Course Contents

Based on LOLER, Legislation and guidelines, Crane pre-operational checks and maintenance, Wire rope inspection and care, Safe rigging practices, Rigging calculations, Offshore crane safety devices, Safe working loads, Load indicators, Dynamic factors, Communication associated with lifting operations, Lifting operation lifting assessments.

Certification

Delegates are required to demonstrate their competence by passing three seperate tests. The tests consist of a pre use check, associated knowledge test and a practical test of operating skills. Successful delegates will be awarded their Certificate of Training which is valid for a period of 3 years

Associated Knowledge Test (5 open and 20 multiple choice questions), Pre Use Test and Practical Test of Basic Operating Skills

A Certificate of Training and ID card will be awarded to successful delegates, the course is accredited by NPORS.
